The Japan Experiment
Hello there! My name is Olivia, and it's nice to meet you. Welcome! First of all, I am not an expert at this whole blog thing but I decided to give it a go. I am moving to Japan in mid-October and I wanted a way to stay in contact with my crazy band of friends, as well as a way that I could document my stay in Japan without going insane. I am a Canadian and have never ventured to this far off country that is so far away from everything I know. I have to admit I am 100%, absolutely terrified of what is to come. I mean, you have to admit, a place that doesn't have Kraft dinner and other of my Canadian conveniences, is pretty scary. But I wanted a way to feel less scared and more excited, because even though I'm jumping into a land of mystery, I want to be able to enjoy it. And hopefully, this will create a platform for me to just do me, boo.
Honestly this is something in my life that I can control and change and share with people, and it gives me stability in this overall stressful time. So far the set-up has already really helped me to adjust. I hope it will continue to be a safety net and a great way to vent and relieve my stress.
Also, some side information, I will be trying (I emphasize try) to post as much as I can for a day by day view of what's going on with the one and only me. So stay tuned. I don't bite. I'm cool. I might post a couple of entries before I leave, about information of my trip, but expect my first actual Japan blog post in about mid-October ish.
